Works on the Paramount Park and LifeStyle Center de Alhama de Murcia could start no later than spring, keeping the inauguration date at spring 2015, according to Proyectos Emblemáticos Murcianos (Premursa) President Jesús Samper.

The new theme park will have the Paramount Pictures licence for 30 years, extendible with Premursa in charge. It will be the first Paramount theme park in Europe, the biggest theme park in Spain and the second biggest in Europe.

The plot in Alhama covers 1.8 million square metres, of which 774,777.83m2 will be for the Paramount Park and 1,038,149m2 for the LifeStyle Center, press reported.

The park will represent an estimated total investment of 1,000 million euros and will attract international tourists; there are expectations of more than three million visitors a year, both from overseas and within Spain. It will have the latest in attractions, aimed at all ages, and distributed over four themed zones, as well as themed hotels.

The LifeStyle Center aims to become the year-round neurological centre for business, cultural and leisure activity in Murcia region, boasting seven hotels and a leisure area, which will include a commercial centre, restaurants, bars, discos, and a casino, as well as a business area with high-tech offices, a convention centre and an auditorium.
