Councillors and the deputy for Sports see first-hand the wide public support for the initiative on the Vera coast
Vera Town Hall Sports councillor, Juan de la Cruz Belmonte, deputy mayor and provincial deputy José A. Fernández, councillors Mariano Estecha and Belén Carnicer, and provincial Sports deputy Ángeles Martínez visited Vera beach on 21st July to see first-hand how the I ‘Vera City’ Nautical Circuit was going and to show their support for this kind of initiative which serve as an additional attraction to the Vera coastline during the holiday season.
They were accompanied by representatives of the company Overlimit, which organized the event in conjunction with the Town Hall and the provincial government, who expressed their satisfaction with how the event was turning out.
The circuit turned the area into the centre and capital of nautical sports. There were opportunities to enjoy various activities, including paddle surf, magic shows, skaters, windsurfing, a kiteloop exhibition and massages, among others. And despite a lack of wind to begin with, the event attracted all ages.
But the activities don’t end there because a lot more is planned for August. As Tourism councillor Catiana Soriano explained on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August there will be the I ‘City of Vera’ Cruisers Regatta with which we aim to introduce high level regatta races.” And on 25th August there will be the I ‘Vera Beaches’ Paddle Surf Open Water, an event becoming hugely popular which has been imported from the US and which will be staged for the first time in eastern Andalucía.
