AVE bridges works finished
The Cadímar and Baños de Alfaix viaducts form part of the Vera-Los Gallardos section of the Almería high-speed rail line, now 93 per cent completed
Rail infrastructure manager Adif has announced that works are finished on the two viaducts making up part of the 10.2-km Vera-Los Gallardos stretch, going through Vera, Mojácar, Turre and Los Gallardos, of the future Almería AVE high-speed rail link.
The 943.7-metre long Cadímar viaduct is built over the Rambla de Hornos in Turre, and extends over part of the River Aguas flood plain. It has 31 openings, also called ‘eyes’, all of which are 30 metres long, apart from the central one which is 45 metres.
The Rambla de Alfaix viaduct goes over the rambla of the same name in Los Gallardos. It is 103.7 metres long with its support axis, the structure formed by a platform with three openings, each 30 metres long, apart from the central one which is 45 metres.
Adif said the conclusion of the works on the two viaducts was an important step forward on the Vera-Los Gallardos stretch of line, which is now 93 per cent completed.
