The team trained in the municipality throughout January
The Mayor Cuevas del Almanzora Jesús Caicedo and Sports councillor Mariela Poveda accompanied the British triathlon team on their last day of training in the municipality.
The Cuevas local authority members were also accompanied by the manager of the municipal sports facilities, Fernando Vega of Kinetic PB, meeting with the team at the indoor swimming pool, where they presented them with a plaque with the area’s shield as a memento of their stay.
The Mayor highlighted his satisfaction that “the team chose our municipality to prepare for the London Olympics”, adding, “Cuevas is an ideal location for this type of training because it has the best in sports facilities, such as the rowing canal and the indoor pool, among others.”
