The event is divided into three different trials - Regata Windsurf, Regata Cruisers and Paddle Surf Open Water – which will be held between 21st July and 25th August


Presentation of I ‘Vera Town’ Nautical Circuit

Sports deputy Ángeles Martínez presented the I ‘Vera Town’ Nautical Circuit at the Provincial Palace, an event organized by Vera Town Hall and the company Overlimit, in which the Almería council is collaborating.

The deputy explained that the circuit is included among the sporting events the provincial administration groups as “the most notable dates in the province.” She stressed the importance of this event, “which makes the most of Vera’s excellent natural resources to attract tourism through this sport.”

Ángeles Martínez was accompanied by Juan de la Cruz Belmonte, Vera Town Hall Sports councillor, Tourism councillor Catalina Sorino, and Overlimit group director Ignacio Morube.

Sorino explained that the circuit will be made up of three nautical tests which begin on 21st and 22nd July with the I ‘Vera Town’ Windsurf Regatta, which counts towards the Almería provincial circuit. On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August the I ‘Vera Town’ Cruiser Regatta will take place, “with which we aim to introduce the kind of circuit of high level regattas,” the councillor said. Finally, on 25th August there will be the I ‘Vera Beaches’ Paddle Surf Open Water, a trial in one of the most recent sporting crazes to be imported from the US, and celebrated for the first time in eastern Andalucía.

The Overlimit director reported that celebrated in parallel with the Windsurf Regatta will be the Nautical Festival, featuring a variety of leisure activities and stands to complement the competitive section. Ignacio Morube thanked Vera Town Hall and the Almería Deputation for their support for the initiative “which we’re putting on for the first time and which we aim to continue in succeeding years.”
